Description and use:
The cooling element is a water-filled foam block tightly enclosed in a strong plastic film.
The element is frozen before use and then packed with goods that are to be kept refrigerated.
Delivery:
Supplied in boxes of 24 pieces. Can be packed with up to 1200 pieces per Euro pallet (50 boxes).
Dimension: 115 x 110 x 40 mm
Sustainability:
At least 2 years (however, direct sunlight must be avoided for a longer period).
Material:
The film is made of LD polyethylene with EVA, thickness 150 microns.
DS standard / DIN standard: PE-LD04, PE-HD02, PE-MD02
Complies with the heavy metal content limit value in accordance with 94/62/EEC
The liquid in the element is water.
The foam block is phenofoam. In its foamed state, phenofoam is neutral and therefore not harmful to humans or the environment.
Availability:
Can be incinerated in the same way as household waste.

1. purpose
To demonstrate the effect of a traditional water based cooling element and a cooling element from Globalpack AB.
2. Execution of the study
Two calibrated temperature loggers were each placed in a polystyrene box. In box 1 there
was a traditional cooling element and in box 2 there was a cooling element from Globalpack.
- Before the start of the test, the polystyrene boxes have room temperature
- Both cooling elements had a starting temperature of -18 °C and were each placed in a polystyrene box
- Calibrated loggers from (placed in each box) monitored the process for 24 hours
- The logging was recorded every 6 minutes.
3 Conclusion
The test clearly shows that a gel cooling element from Globalpack (GEL400) is able to maintain and remain cold for a longer period of time as shown in the graph. E.g. this study shows: GEL400 is able to maintain temperature below 5 °C for 59,3 % longer than a traditional element.
GEL400 is able to maintain temperature below 8 °C for 24,5 % longer than a traditional water based element.
